Gemini Award for Best Lifestyle Series
Following on the heels of a first place Gold WorldMedal for Best Documentary Series - Biography/Profiles category at the prestigious New York International Television Festival, Yaletown's critically acclaimed television series Weird Homes has been awarded the Gemini Award for Best Lifestyle Series. The Gemini, like its American counterpart the Emmy, is awarded for "outstanding achievement in Canadian English-language television" and is administered and produced by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
Yaletown President and Weird Homes Producer Mike Collier accepted the award on behalf of the Company. "Its an honour to receive this award, especially for our first season. I would like to thank The Life Network for their support and for taking a chance on something that was a bit different. I would also like to thank our writer and host, Arthur Black, our director, Eva Wunderman, our production manager, Lupi Danyluk and all of our production staff back in Vancouver."
