MAJOR SALE TO DISCOVERY CHANNEL!
The Company is pleased to announce that it has successfully concluded its negotiations with Discovery Channel U.S. with respect to the broadcast licensing of Weird Homes and Weird Wheels. Pursuant to the terms of the broadcast license Discovery Channel will license all 39 episodes of Weird Homes and Weird Wheels produced this season for American broadcast in High Definition format on its Discovery HD channel.
"This sale represents a number of significant firsts for our company," said Yaletown president Mike Collier. "It is our first major sale to the United States; it is our first major sale to Discovery Channel; and it is our first delivery in HD format. While as a matter of corporate policy we never disclose the dollar value of any broadcast license I will say that this sale totally vindicates the decision that John Cumming and I made last May when we determined that the future of the company lay with High Definition production. It is my firm belief that this sale to Discovery Channel represents only the tip of the iceberg as far as our potential for international sales of High Definition product goes and that 2001 will see Yaletown producing even larger numbers of episodes and series in High Definition."
